Day 1

Arrival & The Roar of Rhine Falls

• Day: Arrive in Switzerland (typically via Zurich Airport) and take a short train or drive north to Neuhausen am Rheinfall / Schaffhausen. Experience the massive, mist-filled Rhine Falls. Enjoy a romantic boat ride that takes you right up to the central rock in the middle of the thundering water.

• Evening: Stroll through the charming medieval old town of Schaffhausen or relax at a riverside restaurant.

• Overnight: Rhine Falls area (Schaffhausen or Neuhausen).

Day 2

Scenic Journey to Lucerne

• Morning: Travel south from Rhine Falls to the lakeside city of Lucerne (approx. 1.5 to 2 hours). Check into your hotel and head out to see the iconic, flower-lined Chapel Bridge (Kapellbrücke) and the moving Lion Monument.

• Afternoon: Take a panoramic boat cruise across the pristine waters of Lake Lucerne, surrounded by towering mountain peaks

Day 3

Lucerne Peaks to Interlaken

• Morning: Head up to one of Lucerne’s famous peaks. Choose Mount Pilatus via the world’s steepest cogwheel railway or Mount Titlis for year-round snow and a walk across the Titlis Cliff Walk suspension bridge.

• Afternoon: Board the highly scenic Lucerne-Interlaken Express (part of the GoldenPass line). This route winds past crystal-blue lakes and over mountain passes right into Interlaken.

• Overnight: Interlaken.

Day 4

Interlaken & The Lauterbrunnen Valley

• Morning: Take a short train ride into the magical Lauterbrunnen Valley, famously known as the valley of 72 waterfalls. Walk up to Staubbach Falls or take a cable car up to the car-free alpine villages of Mürren or Wengen for stunning panoramic valley views.

• Afternoon: Return to Interlaken to enjoy a leisurely stroll along the Höheweg, or book a romantic tandem paragliding flight over the town for an unforgettable shared memory.

• Overnight: Interlaken.

Day 5

Top of Europe (Jungfraujoch or Grindelwald First)

• Day: Dedicate today to the high Alps. Take the train to Grindelwald and board the Eiger Express cable car up to Jungfraujoch (The Top of Europe) to stand on an active glacier. Alternatively, visit Grindelwald First for the exciting Cliff Walk and a more relaxed alpine pasture vibe.

• Overnight: Interlaken.

Day 6: Departure

• Morning: Catch your departure train back to Zurich Airport or your next destination.

Option 2: The Extended 8-Night Itinerary

If you choose to extend your trip, you will head further south into the high-alpine wonderland of Zermatt before concluding in Switzerland’s vibrant cultural hub, Zurich.

Days 1 to 5: Follow the exact itinerary from Option 1 (Rhine Falls, Lucerne, Interlaken).

Day 6: Interlaken to  Zermatt

• • Morning: Board the train south from Interlaken to Zermatt (approx. 2 hours via the Visp connection). As you arrive in this idyllic, car-free village, you’ll immediately be greeted by views of the iconic, jagged peak of the Matterhorn.

  • Afternoon: Explore the pristine, traditional wooden chalets of the Hinterdorf (old village quarter), or take a relaxing horse-drawn carriage ride through the cobblestone streets.

  • Overnight: Zermatt.

Day 7: Majestic Matterhorn Views

• • Morning: Board the historic Gornergrat cogwheel train, which climbs up to a spectacular viewing platform at 3,089 meters. From here, you get a breathtaking, unobstructed view of the Matterhorn and the surrounding glaciers.

  • Afternoon: If traveling during warmer months, stop at the Rotenboden station on your way down for a short walk to Riffelsee, a small alpine lake that perfectly reflects the Matterhorn on its glassy surface. Spend a cozy evening enjoying a traditional Swiss cheese fondue dinner in town.

  • Overnight: Zermatt.

Day 8: Zermatt to Zurich

• • Morning: Travel from Zermatt north to Zurich (approx. 3.5 hours). Check into your hotel and take a romantic stroll through Zurich’s Altstadt (Old Town), wandering down the historic lanes of Niederdorf and visiting the Grossmünster church.

  • Afternoon: Walk down the famous, high-end Bahnhofstrasse for chocolate shopping (make sure to stop at the Lindt Home of Chocolate or a boutique Confiserie) and enjoy a lakeside sunset walk along Lake Zurich.

  • Overnight: Zurich.

Day 9: Departure
